Video: Gadgets 360 With Technical Guruji: Did You Know [November 11, 2023]

Android users must have spotted a pattern with the nomenclature of each version of Google’s operating system for phones. Did you know that all Android versions are named after desserts in an alphabetical order? The first Android to take on the moniker of a confection was Android version 1.5, otherwise known as Cupcake! In subsequent years, Donut, Eclair, Froyo, Gingerbread, Honeycomb, Ice Cream Sandwich, Jelly Bean, KitKat, Lollipop, Marshmallow, and Nougat followed. This delicious idea came from Ryan Gibson, and Android project manager at the time, who wanted the name of the OS to be fun and memorable. Unfortunately, Google’s sweet tradition ended in 2019 with the release of Android 10. Each version of the OS has since carried its numerical name, the latest being Android 14, which shipped with the Pixel 8 series last month.
